Flat washers are used with nuts, bolts or screws to increase bearing surface and distribute load over a wider surface area, thereby preventing a nut, bolt or screw from pulling through the material. The metal washers can also be used as spacers by stacking more than one.
Use a washer that is the same finish as your other fasteners.
